Erica Ann Erekson

April 3, 1954 - December 22, 2021

In Loving Memory

Erica and I sang together in a band in our late teens and early 20s. She was still in high school when she auditioned for the band. I knew immediately that her beautiful voice and personality would fit right in. Her smile, sense of humor and infectious laugh created an enjoyable working environment. Aside from practicing, traveling, and performing together, we would enjoy hours of laughing, being silly and sharing our innermost thoughts.

Erica was a good friend… kind, quirky and a good listener.  Although we lost touch for many years, I recently had a chance to talk to her on the phone and remembered the fun times we had. I am grateful she played a part in my life and send my love and condolences to all of her family at this sad time.

I hired Erica to work in the office at Sound Column Productions. She managed our talent agency and accepted many invitations to sing in our recording studio. She was featured in commercials, demos, and on many record masters. (This was approximately the same time she worked with John Davidson.)

We all loved working with Erica. A highlight during her Sound Column Agency tenure was hosting Kathy Lee Gifford, who came out for a corporate show.

When she resigned at Sound Column, she said she had worked hard developing the talent of others, and now it was time to work full time developing her own opportunities.

She was a bright, bright light.

Erica and I rode the bus to Granite our Junior year, I was such an awkward and ugly duckling teenager and Erica was always so kind to me, it meant so much to me, but that was Erica, this beautiful kind young woman who reached out to everyone and treated everyone with respect, kindness and friendship.  I don't know if she ever knew how much her simple act of sitting by me on the bus meant to me but I have never forgotten.
My deepest condolences to her family and friends.

Dear Erekson family, I am so sorry, so sad, so very sad--especially my heart reaches out to you sisters, who are and have been so close, always, to Erica.  I am one of the folks who Erica rescued and befriended.  She happened to be the person who answered the phone at her real estate company when I called, crying, begging for somebody to sell the place my 4 kids and I owned in Bountiful and find us a new, safe home.  Erica told me (years later) she'd suspected at the time that I was some scam caller, nevertheless she came to meet me and proceeded to step in and rescue us.  I credit her in many ways for literally saving my life.

Besides her generosity and  insightful freindship, Eirica was just so dang much fun. Her voice (singing on my new back deck which she got built) and her making us both laugh till we cried are my version of heaven.  It hurts so much that she is gone from this world. I love her.  And I know how deeply she loved each one of her siblings.  I'm grateful that through her I've had the chance to meet some of you and experience her admiration and to respect the amazing ties your family has.  I feel for you in this loss, in your grief.

Always, Sharon Christenson

I started to read the obit because of the most striking, beautiful picture of Erica. I had the pleasure of doing a real estate transaction with Erica, where she shared a few stories of your family life that were heart warming and funny. One was that you children worked along side your parents with selling milk, but there were times when you were ill not feeling well and but were still expected to participate, so your mother would apply an ointment, vicks vapor rub to a sanitary pad and wrap it around her kneck to help her feel better. I am so sorry for your loss, she was truly one of a kind, genuion delightful person. I just remembered Erica and her husband helped us move my client out of his house after the sale colsed, he just didn't want to move. I will miss her very much.
