In Loving Memory

I'm super sad to know that my former wife & best friend, Kathy, has gone on to wherever we go after life. She was a special lady, full of energy and fire, she never quit pushing herself to go above & beyond. She was full of love and spirit, generous and kind... she loved our dogs and took care of us like no one else could. She loved to cook and was fantastic at it, I'm surprised I didn't get fat. I was lucky to spend the happy times with her that I did, and I'm so sorry for her family & friends to feel the pain of her loss. I've spent time reminiscing, looking at old pictures, remembering happy times and experiences... and mourning her passing. If you knew her, please take a moment to remember her.

Kathy was a joy to work with here at Corrections. She would brighten up the room with her smile. She would work fervently to get our payments made and was always a pleasure to chat with.

I pray that her fa mily can find peace in know that Kathy passed doing what she loved to do - serving others.

I knew Kathy when we lived in Juneau. She recruited me into her Bunco group. Best group of ladies I've ever known. I looked forward to our monthly nights out together. Kathy was always welcoming, giving and a true friend. She will be missed. Rest In Peace my friend. ❤️

I am absolutely shocked!!  I recently spoke with Kathy and just shocked.  I have known Kathy and Margie and family for many, many years.  I grew up with Kathy and Margie and lived down the street back in Lakewood, CA.  My heart goes out to Kathy's family and I am so saddened to hear of this news.  God Bless those that remain behind.

I got to know Kathy when I first came to work at the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development in 2018.  Although I did not know her for very long, I was immediately drawn to her bright, cheerful and creative personality.  We shared many interests, including a love of berry picking, cooking and the outdoors.  She was always super positive and friendly and often spoke lovingly of her family especially her children and grandchildren.

Kathy was loved by her co-workers.  She will be greatly missed.  My sincere condolences to her family and loved ones.  Cathy Muñoz

My condolences to her family.

I first met Kathy when we bowled together on Friday night bowling league in Juneau.  I knew her husband for many years and he was the one who intoduced us. She always had a bubbly personality which could always lighten your mood.

We would always see who bowled worse. I think it was kind of a running joke between us.

Not too long ago she switched jobs and ended up working with me over at the Department of Revenue.  She didn't stay too long before she packed up and moved to UT.

I was glad that she got to go move closer to her family.

She will be missed by many.

I met Kathy when she moved into our condominium complex earlier this year.  I was walking my two dogs and she was walking her two darling Maltese, Bridget and Raven. Since that first day, I knew we were going to become good friends.  I felt like I had known her much longer than a few months. The more we talked, it seemed we had a lot in common.  We even made tentative plans to take a trip to Alaska next summer and she said she would show me all around as I had never been there.  Kathy loved her new condo; she loved her new job; she loved her family.  There was always a smile on her beautiful face.  She just was excited with life.  I feel so fortunate to have met her and considered her a friend, even for a short time. She was a special lady.  My condolences to her family and prayers for comfort and healing.  Rest in peace, Kathy.

From the moment I met her, Kathy and I clicked! She was so outgoing, friendly, and the sort of person you just WANT to have as a friend! Once we realized we were both "blessed" with the challenge of living with Multiple Sclerosis, we talked/laughed/cried about things only people that have the disease can truly understand. Despite that challenge, however, it never got her down! She'd come to work every day wearing her heals and big, bright smile, ready to tackle any task or challege that had the audactity to show its face.

Though my time of knowing her was short, I will cherish it forever. I am eternally grateful I was able to meet and get to know Kathy. I pray her family will find comfort in knowing that she's happy in heaven, free of the pain that plagued her for years. I'm certain she's now looking down and smiling at her precious children, grandchildren, and loved ones.

Kathy will be missed in our office, she was only with us for a short time, but I loved her laugh, her beautifull smile and her warm, loving personality.   I am truly sorry for the loss of your mother, heaven is being blessed by her presence.

May  angels wrap you in their arms and comfort and soothe your soul.
