Carol Angelyn Egan

Carol Angelyn Egan left us on May 13th, 2024, with Gary, the love of her life holding her hand, and surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Grant) Finch, JD (Dixie) Toponce and Scott (Kathy) Toponce, her sweet puppy Izzy, 10 Grandchildren: Sarah, Linsy, Emily, Mcinsy, Hillary, Gabrielle, Russell, Patricia, Wylie, Zach and 12 Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Abe and Nell Sieverts and her stepdaughter Allison Egan.

Carol was born in Salt Lake City on February 26, 1939, the first born of 4-children. She graduated from East High School and went on to become a mother of 3 children that she cherished. She made many great memories with her children, one being the yearly trips to Newport Beach with her sister Linda and all their kids, who wore matching outfits sewn by Carol and Linda.

As her kids grew, Carol had many interests and talents to share. Teaching Piano and working various jobs, her favorite being the American Heart Association.

In 1979 Carol met the love of her life, Gary Egan. They married on February 15, 1980. They started their life of adventure, which included a run for Ms. Utah in 1983. They traveled many parts of the world with family (much of it with her daughter Cheryl and her family) and friends, always making new friends along the way. A more recent trip to Holland with family, to see her parents’ birthplace, meant the world to Carol.

Throughout her rich life, Carol enjoyed taking care of her pets, playing her piano, reading (Carol, Cheryl and Linda started Time Finders Book Club in 1995 and it is still going on today!), golfing, camping, hiking, and dancing. Many of you have experienced Carol’s love of swinging on the dance floor!

Carol had an innate ability to create beauty with her plants and flowers in her breathtaking yard, where she and Gary loved working together and spending time.

Carol (Mom) you touched the lives of everyone you met with your warmth and your beautiful smile. There is not a day that will go by that we will not miss you dearly. We love you so much.

Special thanks to Becky Bell and her team at Applegate HomeCare & Hospice, who lovingly helped take care of Carol.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 30th from 3-6 pm. The Service begins at 4.
