In Loving Memory

I love you Nick and Brittany. They are my grandchildren and always will be. Since the day I met them they were both so sweet. They have always given me a hug when they are leaving. I will miss Nicks hugs, he was a very special person. Now he is a special angel in gods care with all who went before him. Love you both so much. I've lived my life, I would trade places with Nick if I could he had so much to still give. He was so special. My heart goes out to all that are grieving. I will always cherish the picture he drew of Elvis for me.

Another quote from one of Nick's English professors (Carol Guarnieri):

"Nick was in one of my classes last year, and I was struck by his phenomenally sharp instinct for literary analysis and expansive intellect; more importantly, though, I was impressed by his incredible thoughtfulness, consideration for his classmates, humor, and kindness. My heart breaks for his family and community. "

It was with much sadness that the Department of English at the University of Utah found out about Nick's passing.  One of Nick's professors wrote that Nick "was the brightest light in my class, quiet but whip smart in answering questions and with a wry sense of terse humor."

I was Nick's academic advisor for his English major.  We only had a couple brief phone appointments due to the pandemic, but Nick was very excited about being in the first cohort of students who declared our newly-created English B.S. degree.

The faculty and staff of the Department of English will be working with the Dean of Students and our Dean in the College of Humanities to grant Nick an honorary English B.S. degree.

Our deepest sympathy to Nick's familiy and friends . . .

Although Dan and I were not related to Nick by blood, we felt like we were and he will forever be our great nephew.

He will be missed by so many of us, although we know he is finally happy in his next journey.

We love you so much Nick!

Brittany, Diane, Natalie, Cathy and all the siblings and other relatives our hearts hurt for you all.

Love to you all,

Aunt Helen and Uncle Dan

Diane and Natalie, My heart is broken. I remember Nick as a little boy playing with my sons Mark, and Steven on 27th street. Even though so much time has gone by I still remember his and Natalie's cute little faces. You're family has been through so much. I am truly sorry this has happened. Take care. Sincerely, Deb Kidman ❤️

Diane and family, there are words to adequately express how sorry I am for your loss. Nick has been an Amazing person his entire life. I looked forward to every drawing or song he posted. Heaven certainly gained one of the best. Praying that the memories you hold close to your heart, comfort you in the days ahead. Sending much love. Cindy
