In Loving Memory

Denise and Boys, Rick meant so much to me not only as a mentor in business, but as a model in the proper way to conduct oneself in life. I remember him saying, ?You'll be successful as long as you remember the Golden Rule, and simply do what you say you are going to do.? Simple right? It astounds me how some don't get that and will not allow themselves to achieve because they didn't practice the Rick Hill Method. I had not seen Rick in many years but he and you guys were never far from Marcia, Jimmy and my own thoughts. When we heard he was sick, we were devastated, but as the words printed earlier here stated, Rick had integrity and dignity, and I am sure his spirit kicked butt during the rough times, and is still kicking butt now. Our thoughts and prayers with you Denise, the boys, and your family. I will never forgert Rick Hill or what he taught me. I'm lucky to have known him.

Sorry for the loss of a great great guy, father, and husband. There was a reason that he was a best man in my wedding. As a roomate in college, he was special, always enjoying life and friends. As a teacher and coach, I know he left students/players with a great gift of life and knowledge. You are a fantastic family that will miss a fantastic guy.

Denise, I so enjoyed teaching with Rick and knew him to be one of the best coaches in the region. Ken loved working and coaching with him in Kellogg and always was impressed with his work ethic and loving friendship. It was a pleasure to see him on a regular basis at Moscow High when he would come on his equipment rounds. Then we would catch up on family news and shoot the breeze. He was far to young to be passing but such is life. He was a wonderful man and he will be greatly missed. My love to you and all the family, Connie Hall

Because of coach Krystkowiak, I feel as though I knew Rick and admire his commitment to youth sports. It is wonderful how Larry and his team have dedicated their season to Rick, as his son Andy carries on the legacy. My best wishes to the Hill family.

Rick was always such a positive, energetic, striving person... a person to admire and follow. He loved basketball and played varsity basketball with me at LHS. We watched a lot of Steve Olson, Rodell Hill, Bob Jones, Pat Tracy, Bill Schrupp and Bob Harrington doing their thing, but we had a great team, and Rick was a key part of it. Remember Rick having an uncanny way of faking with his left hand while making a right handed shot and vice versa. We rode back and forth to Boise State with Rodell and Tom Thorpe a number of times. Rick's cool head helped keep us in line in Riggins and Grangeville! My condolences to Rick's family. Rick will be remembered fondly by all those lucky to know him.

My deepest sympathy to his immediate family and friends. We all have been blessed to have known and enjoyed his presence. With an infectious smile, Rick once told me and I quote, "If you see someone without a smile give them one of yours". Thanks Rick for being part of our life. David and Janet Roberts

I was shocked to see the obituary in the paper tonight. I am so sorry for his family's loss! I did not know Rick well but had played pickleball with him a few times at the Park Center in Murray. It was great fun playing with and against him as I could tell right off the bat he was a good athlete and a competitor. In between games we had the opportunity to chat and found we had quite a bit in common - both had teaching and coaching backgrounds and the fact that he was working up at the U on the softball field where my daughter had played a few years before! I really enjoyed getting to know Rick and felt like we became friends from the start. He was such a nice, friendly person. I am glad I had to opportunity to meet him. God Bless!

Rick Hill Benediction Since Ricks illness I have thought alot about what Ricks life meant to me. One word kept standing out.....INTEGRITY.....So....I " Googled" the word......in the old days we used a dictionary with real printed pages.....Now we " Google"......what's up with that? Anyway....a flash on the screen said that ....." INTEGRITY is the Quality of being honest and having strong moral principals; moral uprightness. It is generally a personal choice to uphold ones self to consistently moral and ethical standards." For all those who knew Rick for any time at all ......I'm sure would agree....Rick was the epitome of the word INTEGRITY.......It was part of him, his character, part of his very being. I'm not sure where this INTEGRITY came from that Rick carried.....but I saw It develop in him as early as a sophomore in Highschool. He had it.....and was not fearful or reluctant to express it. All the the lives that Rick touched; the kids he coached, his friends, acquaintances, fellow workers, wife and children, brothers and sisters, neices and nephews.....all of us.....are much better people because of Rick Hill's example of INEGRITY. Thanks Rick.....for this gift you left us.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Rick through my involvement with youth baseball and high school volleyball. I had a team that wasn't meeting it's potential and I asked Rick to come and talk with them. He told the girls about the expectation to always give your max, to always be the best you can be and shared a story about how his basketball teams always "touched the line" when they were running lines - don't skimp on the little things. His story about the high school basketball boy who's father didn't like the way Rick was doing things so Rick had the young man bring his dad to practice and sat with him and explained everything they did and why they did it ~ then on game day didn't let him play because he didn't practice! I love that story. Rick makes me want to be a better coach and a mentor to my players and for that, I am truly thankful. He was a cool dude and I am blessed to have been able to swap stories with him. Our heartfelt best to his family. Kelly and Mike Harwick
