Susan passed away peacefully on Sunday after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her children, mother and loving husband.

Born in Champagne-Urbana, IL., Susan lived most of her young life in Downers Grove, IL., where she met her life long best friend, Joanne Pouleson Small. Later on she married Terence R. Heenan, they moved to Macon, GA and raised four beautiful children. Although later divorced they remained close friends. She went back to school and graduated from Wesleyan College with a B.A. in English in 1999. Susan immediately started teaching high school literature and religion where she expanded the minds and touched the lives of so many students.

Susan moved to Magna, Ut in 2009 to marry her loving husband, Mitch Monserret. She taught religion at Judge Memorial Catholic High School for the last 6 years.

Susan is survived by her husband Mitch Monserret; children Mary Brenna Barrineau, Terence Heenan, Shannon Arminio, and Catie Mae Johnson; grandchildren Mitchel Monserret, Malaki Monserret, Lilibeth Monserret and Blake Arminio; mother Margaret Irwin; brother Blake Irwin; sister Valerie Kessler; brother-in-law Kendall Kessler; her mother-in-law Nadine Davis; as well as daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, Monserret step-children, and brothers and sisters-in-law. Susan is preceded in death by her father Glen Irwin and sister in law Jamie Irwin.

A viewing and celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 19th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 20th at 11:00 AM with a viewing one hour prior also at Starks Funeral Parlor. Guests are encouraged to use the complimentary valet parking provided for these services.

Susan and her family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. John Ward, Rosie and the staff of The Huntsman Cancer Institute.
