"Gone too Soon"

Jeffrey Dean Anderson passed away peacefully on August 1, 2016 at home with his wife and children.  His passing leaves a hole in our hearts that will never be filled.

Born on July 1, 1951, Jeff was the second of seven children.  Raised in Rose Park, the family later moved to Bountiful and Jeff attended Bountiful High School, graduating in 1969. On July 1, 1972, Jeff married his true love, Linda Joy Ryan.  Together they had three children and five grandchildren.  One of the great joys of Jeff’s life was spending time with his grandchildren.

Jeff worked for Mountain Bell (later, US West) until 1988.  He then started a small business and owned and managed rental properties until retirement in 2013.

Throughout his life, Jeff remained a child at heart.  As a young man he built and raced slot cars.  He loved restoring and collecting bicycles and cars and was working on restoring a Corvette at the time of his death.  He never met a roller coaster he didn’t like.  His sense of humor was apparent in everything he did.  Even in his final days, he kept his family laughing.

A true Renaissance man, Jeff could repair or build anything.  If he didn’t know how to do something, he’d study, and then do it as well as any tradesman.  He was a handyman, an artist, a mechanic; a jack of all trades.

Jeff always had a special love of the ocean. Eighteen the first time he saw the Pacific Ocean, he said he felt like he was home.  It was a life-long dream of his to one day retire with Linda on the beach.  Jeff realized his dream a few years ago when he bought a home on the beach in Ocean Park, Washington.  He loved to sit on the deck and watch birds, deer, and even a bear or two.  He was truly happy walking in the sand and watching sunsets with Linda from their favorite spot on the sand dunes.  Although he didn’t get as much time there as he had planned, his family is truly grateful for the short time he did have there.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda; children Amber Anderson (Don Westlund), Emily (Shane) Cook, William Bryce; grandchildren Oliver, Eli, Zoey, Henry, Augustus; siblings Connie, Debbie, Trisha, Holly, Jennifer, Brian; and many other extended family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dean Outney Anderson and Florence Jean Knudson Anderson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday August 5th from 6:00 until 8:00 at Starks Funeral Parlor 3651 South 900 East.  Please use the complimentary valet parking provided on the North side of the building.  Casual dress invited.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Utah Food Bank.
