"Let Go, Let God"
Our mom was embraced by Jesus on the morning of April 7, 2016. She was in the comfort of her home with Abby the dog and Izzy the cat by her side.
Mom was born on July 27, 1951 to Richard and Joan Young in Ogden, Utah. She was the first born of seven. She graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelors in Costume Design. She was a designer and seamstress of beautifully ornate costumes worn in productions for Pioneer Theater, Ballet West and Utah Opera. Her passion for design and sewing spilled into her personal life and she found great enjoyment in creating wedding dresses for all of her daughters-in-law and costumes for all of the grandkids, especially for her favorite holiday, Halloween. Her grandkids viewed her as magical and she was most alive when she was with them. She thrived in her enchanted backyard caring for all the little creatures and was a neighborhood fairy godmother who bestowed her joy and gifts on all children, friends and loved ones. Her boys were everything she talked about. Mom's greatest love was for her Savior Jesus, which she expressed at her church K-2.
She is survived by her sons Chris (Megan) and their children McKenzie, Cameron and Holly; Sean (Jenny) and their children Lea, Austin and a new baby boy on the way; Cory (Emily); her mother; five siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her "daddy" and her brother, Brent.
Celebration of Life and viewing will be held on Monday, April 11th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Please use complimentary valet parking provided on the north side of the building. She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South, Salt Lake City.
