I was born on March 12th, 1929 to Hyrum Earl Allred and Hannah Bowman. When I was 16, I married a sailor on his survivor's leave after his ship was sunk. Donald Vaughn and I were married on May 31, 1945. We had three daughters together and were divorced in 1957.

I went to work at Grand Central on 21st South in Salt Lake City, where I met the man I would marry on June 20th, 1960, Neil Griffiths. We would have two sons.

I worked most of my life outside as well as inside the home. After Grand Central, I worked with my sister, Grace, in Makoffs, a ladies' clothing store, in the hats and wigs. We later moved to Adrien and Emilie, the same quality of store. I eventually became the manager of the Cottonwood Mall store. At this time I also taught a fashion class at Stevens Henager. Then I managed Gloria Marshall Salons, and finally ended up getting my GED so I could take my Real Estate exam. After passing that, I sold houses in the Salt Lake Valley from 1973 to 1993. In our retirement, Neil and I worked together at Parke Lane, a senior apartment community, and at Parke Lane Manor assisted living.

My passions were my husband Neil, my family, traveling and art.

Survived by my children Valerie Vaughn (Kimm), Jacqueline Vaughn, Terrie Farley (Kit), Ray Griffiths (Teri), Russell Griffiths (Heather);11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous family members. Preceded in death by my husband Neil.

A celebration of Peggy's life will be held on Tuesday, August 4th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.

Her family would like to thank the aids who cared for her during her last days.
