Lucy, 74, passed away on July 22nd, 2015 in Salt Lake City shortly after being diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer.

Lucy was born on November 23rd, 1940 to Francisco and Eufemia Terrado the second of seven children in Binmaley, Pangasinan, Philippines.  

She received a nursing degree in 1962 from the University of Pangasinan and worked briefly as a private duty nurse at 7-Up Bottling Co. and as a staff nurse at Tarlac Provincial Hospital before immigrating to the United States later that year.  Lucy worked as a Labor/ Delivery and Psychiatry nurse in Jersey City, NJ before moving to Salt Lake City in the 1980’s.  Lucy retired from LDS Hospital in 2007.

 Lucy loved to dance, play her organ and sing karaoke.  She traveled quite a bit, having visited Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Bosnia, and Croatia, plus multiple trips back to the Philippines. She also enjoyed trips to Wendover and Las Vegas to play the slots as well as Black Jack and Baccarat.  Lucy was a very pious Roman Catholic; she went to church every day, participated in many prayer groups, and her daily prayer routine could last 2 hours.

She is preceded in death by her parents Francisco and Eufemia; first husband Raymundo T. Bugarin; and second husband Emilo D. Pinoliar.  Survivors include her only son Raymond Jon Bugarin; daughter-in-law MaryAnne; sister Alice; brothers Marcial, Jimmy, Arthur, Rudy and Frank; aunt Tinay Mamaril; and multiple cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 28th at 12:00 PM at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 3580 West 3650 South, West Valley City, where a viewing will be begin at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in Eternal Gardens Cemetery in Dagupan City, Philippines.
