Our loving mother, grandmother (Yiayia), sister, and friend Goldie passed away peacefully at home on May 19, 2015, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her loving family.

Goldie was born September 18, 1925 in Altonah, Utah to Theros and Cleanthe (Maragoudakis) Sargetis.  She was raised on the family farm until age 15, when the family moved to Salt Lake City.  She attended Granite High School, where she played basketball and graduated with honors.  Goldie also graduated from secretarial school with a degree in shorthand and typing.  She worked at Continental Bank as a secretary to the president for four years.

Goldie married Andrew “Andy” G. Floor on June 5, 1947 in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral.  They raised four children.  They owned and operated several movie theaters and the Valley-Vu Drive In.  Later, Goldie worked for Anaconda Wire and Cable as the Western District Manager.

After Andy’s death in 1980, Goldie married Bud Nielson in 1983.  They traveled the states in their motor home, spending winters in Palm Springs.

Love of family was foremost in Goldie’s life.  She was an elegant woman with a beautiful smile.  Famous for her Greek cooking and she loved working in her flower garden. She was an ardent fan of the Utah Jazz.
