Dee, our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passes away peacefully on May 7th, 2015. She will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to know her. Dee is survived by her sons Scott (Kim), Chad (Jen), and Troy; her grandchildren Ashley, Alex, Sheltcey, Brandon, Monica, Tosh, Nicole, Khloe, and Zack; and her great-grandchildren Devon and Maya. Because of the depth of her truly caring soul, there are many others who call her Mom or Grandma.
Dee was born in Silver City, Oregon on March 12, 1940, the youngest of eleven children. She grew up in Tacoma, Washington and was a devoted 12th man, Seahawks fan. GO HAWKS! She was a bright, fun, mothering, independent, strong soul who would open her heart and home to anyone. She took in many strays, both people and animals, and made sure they were warm, cared for, and fed.
Dee was a beautiful soul who would always make you feel at home, regale you with stories, and lend a sympathetic ear. Her caring ways and her empathetic nature were always there to soothe a weary mind. To know her was to know the depth of love that can only come from a heart of the purest intentions. Her generosity was unrivaled by saints, her kindness knew no bounds, and her love was as unyielding as the eternal peace where he now rests.
She will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 11th from 6 - 8 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. All who wish to join in celebrating the life of an amazing woman are welcome.
