Ronald Steve Myers

June 8, 1958 - July 1, 2024

Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Ron was taken away from us too soon. After a difficult battle with cancer, Ron passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the age of 66, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Ron was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and eventually moved to Calgary, where he started two thriving businesses. A true entrepreneur with a drive to succeed, Ron founded the Waterbed Factory at the young age of 20, which grew to include five retail stores throughout Calgary. His next venture was a portable sign company, which he successfully expanded into Edmonton. However, Ron had bigger visions. Driven by his love of golf, he moved to Palm Desert, CA, in 1991 to attend the College of the Desert Golf Management program. There, he met his future wife, Miki.

By 1995, Ron and Miki had settled in Salt Lake City, Utah, where they embarked on a prosperous career in purchasing, renovating, and selling properties. Over the past 29 years, they expanded their real estate portfolio to include rental properties, building a thriving business together. They married in Murray, Utah, on January 21, 1999, and welcomed their first daughter, Anna, that same year. In 2002, they were blessed with another daughter, Nina, who, along with Anna, became the joy of their lives. Ron was a true animal lover who always enjoyed the company of his cats and was known for his generosity towards charities and homeless shelters in Salt Lake City.

Although Ron was a dedicated and hard worker, his true passion was playing golf. Every Sunday, he could be found on the golf course, enjoying a round with friends or his beloved wife, Miki. In addition to his love for golf, Ron cherished the yearly family trips he took to Hawaii and Florida, where they spent quality time together and created countless cherished memories. Ron will be missed beyond words, especially for his wonderful dry sense of humor.

Ron leaves behind his heartbroken family: his wife, Miki; his daughters, Anna and Nina; his brother, Larry Myshyniuk; and his sisters, Lorraine Dow (Gord), Susan Myshyniuk, and Wendy Campbell. He is also survived by his nephews, Steven Campbell, Jason Campbell, Ron Dow, and Artie Myshyniuk; and his niece, Lisa Dow. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Orest and Lovie Myshyniuk.

Special thanks to the Huntsman Cancer Institute; we will forever be grateful for their kindness and compassionate care.

Funeral services will be held at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, Utah, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 3:00 PM.
