Bill Biddle

Our friend, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and mentor, Bill Biddle passed away on June 3, 2024. Bill was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and spent his younger years between Indiana and Florida. He started working to help support his family in his early teens, and the work ethic he developed then was evident throughout his career. Bill earned a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ITT Tech, and an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.  He was a savvy businessman, and over the years worked at Aramark Medical as a Regional Vice President, BC Technical as the Chief Operating Officer, and was the President and CEO of iLumens.

Bill was a multi-sport athlete as a young man, and never lost his passion for sports and coaching. In his interactions with his children, his friends, and the many people whose lives he touched, Bill often took on the role of coach, and was especially fond of saying, “If I could coach you a little” before offering advice and ideas for growth. He cared deeply about everyone he met, and always strived to be a positive influence on others. 

Bill enjoyed being in the wilderness, riding his bike, traveling, wine, the Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Reds, Gonzaga basketball, and attending Burning Man. He stayed in touch with friends who spanned his lifetime, always checking in to see how they were doing, and he loved spending time with them. He also loved being barefoot, tending his vegetable garden, and eating tomatoes and cottage cheese.

Those who will most miss Bill are his wife Amy Aldous Bergerson, his children Whitney
and David Stortz, Jeremy and Jess Biddle, Nathan and Emily Biddle, and Chase Bergerson. Bill was the proud grandfather of Bryson, Gibson, Payton, Adam, Alek, Karsten, Lauren, Jakob, Jimmy, Joey, Annabelle, Chloe, Owen, and Cora. He leaves behind his siblings, Joanne, Elaine, and Lowell. And, as much as he would roll his eyes to have it mentioned, he was a committed caregiver for his adoring cats Pinot, Noir, and Cremant. Everyone one of us misses Bill tremendously. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Namislo, and Dee Thomas, the mother of his children.

A memorial celebration of Bill's life will be on July 13, 2024 from 5-7 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. Please join us to remember Bill, whose quiet demeanor and kindness touched the lives of many. And, feel free to wear your favorite flip-flops.
