Wayne Kirk

February 9, 1950 - November 29, 2023

“I’ve got good news and I’ve got bad news. The GOOD news is, I know now what is on the other side... the Bad news is, I can’t tell you." -Wayne Kirk

On November 29, 2023, Wayne continued his journey onto the other side.

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Wayne Kirk passed away peacefully in his home after enduring the painful effects of cancer. Born in Salt Lake City on February 9,1950, to Earl and Janet Kirk. Wayne was the oldest of four children. He graduated from South High School and worked for Albertsons grocery store where he met the love of his life and best friend of 54 beautiful years, Bette Jo Kirk. Together they dedicated their lives to their children and grandchildren, which he loved very much. Even during chemo, Wayne attended several soccer games, theater, and dance recitals. Supporting them all, the best he could. They were his “pride and joy.”

Wayne was part of the Navy reserves, and was always a hard worker. He owned his own yard care business (Aspen Yard Care) and later retired from Wonder Bread. He was a great example for his kids and family. Wayne’s passion was for the outdoors. He spent his last days sitting on his deck in the backyard. He loved camping and every year he looked forward to the archery hunt with his son Christopher.

“I will never forget the smile on his face when he got a big buck in the first 10 minutes of opening day.”
He enjoyed golfing every week with his buddies, even though many times they “forgot” to keep score. He had an awesome iron shot.

Wayne’s heart continued to always turn to service. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He was always looking for ways to volunteer his time and service to the community and to the Lord, our God.

We will miss you, Dad! As for now, we can only imagine what is waiting for us on the other side...until we meet again.

“Don’t forget ... the person going up always has the right of way.”

Survived by his wife, Bette Jo Kirk; children: Suzie Campana, Angela (Chris) Crossman, Christopher (Patti) Kirk; grandchildren: Bradley, Clint, Leisha, Noah, Owen, Makayla, Madison, and Malorie and four great grandchildren; siblings: Daniel Kirk and LoraLee Kirk. Preceded in death; parents Earl and Janet Kirk and sister Lorraine Kirk.
