Murland Lee Weaver age 71, passed away peacefully in his South Jordan home surrounded by family on June 28th, 2014 after a long battle with cancer.

Murland was the fifth of six sons born to William and Myrtle Weaver. He was born on the family farm in Egin, Idaho and was the largest child that the doctor had ever delivered, weighing in at a whopping 12 pounds.

He graduated from South Freemont High School in 1961 and ran the family farm for the next 2 years. In 1963 Murland moved to Las Vegas, joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union and went to work for his brother William "Doc" Weaver at Interstate Electric building power lines. Murland spent the next 50 years working in the trade for the same company progressing through the ranks starting as a Groundman, and retiring as a Regional Equipment Manager of Sturgeon Electric Co.. Although Murland took an official management position in 1982, he was always proud of his Union roots and carried his ticket until retiring from the union in December 2013.

On November 30th, 1985 Murland married the love of his life Judy Freitag who he cherished and adored for the next 28 years.

Murland will always be remembered for his brilliant mind, gruff exterior, endless dedication, and passion for perfection. He was a wonderful husband and fantastic father who gave selflessly to his family's needs and desires. Murland enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting with his brother Bush and spending time with his family. He was passionate about politics, and cherished time spent with Bush and a pot of coffee, yelling at politicians on the television, bewildered by the Republican Agenda.

Murland is preceded in death by his parents William and Myrtle, brothers "Doc" and Boyd, Sister Joyce and sister-in-law Deanna. He is survived by his loving wife Judy, children Brian (Peggy) McKenzie, Jennifer (Scott) Berry, Dustin Weaver, and his brother-in-law Sam (Amber) Freitag who Murland always viewed as a son along with their three beautiful daughters Kayla, Haylee, and Brooklynn who he adored. Brothers Gordon (Glenda), Warren( Marnell), Bush (Joyce ) sister-in-law Dorothy Weaver , Mother-in-Law Joan Freitag, Niece Mindie (Curtis) Mciff, Nephew Jules (Julee) Weaver, 4 grandchildren and numerous other nephews and nieces.
