Elinor Jean Robinson
Elinor Jean Robinson (Jean), 87, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away on May 20, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Jean was born July 30, 1926 to Olin Anderson and Beulah Freese Anderson in Ogden, Illinois. Jean attended Champaign Central High School, Carlton College and the University of Illinois. On a blind date on September 28, 1946 Jean met Jack Robinson. The Following summer they were married on June 28, 1947. They renewed their vows on their 61st wedding anniversary at the wedding of their granddaughter Wendy on June 28, 2008. Jean was Jack’s biggest fan for forty years of his football and wrestling coaching career in Illinois at Thornton, Thornridge and the University of Illinois and in Utah at Sky View, Mountain Crest and Utah State University.
Jean is survived by her sister Wanda Tighe and brother Joe Anderson. Her children: Mike Robinson (Kathy Hooten), Jill Benson (Dick), and Susan Fletcher. Her grandchildren: Wendy Chase (Lawrence), John Robinson (Jenny), Patrick Robinson (Brittany), Michelle Campbell (Steve), Ross Benson (Mandy), Sean Fletcher, Scott Fletcher, Andrew Fletcher, Melanie Hooten, and Dan Hooten. Her great grandchildren: James Robinson, Grace Robinson, Jack Robinson, Bradley Campbell, Collin Campbell, Noah Chase, Rawley Benson, Carter Hooten and Gabriel Hooten. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Jack Robinson and her great granddaughter Jessica Campbell.
A reception in Jean’s memory will be held at the home of Susan Fletcher in Kaysville, Utah, on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, from 6 pm to 9 pm.
