Catherine Irene O'Reilly Masse'

Our loving mother, grandma, Mame' passed away on March 11, 2014 at home in the arms of her two youngest children. Irene was born June 30, 1924 in Ogden, Utah to Michael F & Elizabeth B O'Reilly. She married Robert E Masse' Sr. November 17, 1942 in Salt Lake City.

Irene attended Judge Memorial High School. Her first job was at Newhouse Hotel & later went into the floral business, She later retired from the Airport Hilton.

Irene was a devoted Catholic and was a long time member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She was a member of the legion of Mary and an honorary life member of the woman of the Moose. Irene was an avid bowler and loved crafting. She was a Mother to many foster children.

Survived by her 8 children Marcy Jacobson, Samantha (Tom) Manseau, Patricia Sowers, John (JoAnn), Lionel Michael Sr. Frank, Robert Jr. and Barbara Masse'; 21 Grandchildren; 28 Great Grandchildren; and 4 Great Great Grandchildren; Brother William (Gloria), Sister Patricia and Sister in law Louisa O'Reilly.

Preceded in death by her husband Bob, her Mother & Father, Brothers and Sisters and 2 grandsons Allen Jr. and Dannie Jr.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Joseph Mayo on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 12 noon at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4501 W. 5215 S., Kearns. Friends and Family may call at St. Francis Xavier Parish on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 6-8pm with a rosary 7pm. Interment Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan.

In lieu of floral offerings the family would like donations to be made to a special trust fund in Irene Masse' name at any America First Credit Union Account # 456679-0.
