“Zeke”

August 22, 1960 - February 1, 2014

With his loving family by his side, our brother ,uncle and friend joined his mom, dad, sister, brother and many others family members who have preceded him.

Zeke’s big, contagious smile, laugh, and fun-loving/big-hearted attitude was always there to help. He was our Knight in Shining Armor.  Zeke was a graduate of Kearns High Clas of 1979.  He coached and played softball for First Step Recovery and was a valued employee of WalMart.   Zeke enjoyed fishing, teasing his nieces, nephews, and watching the Utah Jazz.

He is survived by his brother Mike Ortiz, sisters Mary Ann (Jack) Tillery, Bennie (Sam) Barton, Judy (Doug) Newman, Lisa (Robert) Andrade, Mary Ortiz Matthews, Terrie (Geno) Montoya, Jerrie (Joe) Trujillo; 24 nieces, nephews; and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Friends may call upon the family on Wednesday, February 5th from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City.  Park in the Granite Credit Union and access the building from the South entrance.
