On a beautiful summer day our daughter moved on to be free of her illness, 22q or DiGeorge Syndrome. She is our special angel and such a strong, happy, amazing person.

Katie loved to go shopping and play Yahtzee. She loved going to movies with Grandma, cousins Sky and Alyssa. She loved music, both singing and playing her instruments: drums and new electric guitar. She loved her Jacob from the Twilight series. She loved playing with and giving treats to her puggy Gracie. She loved writing letters. Katie loved all and hated none.

She leaves behind her mom and dad, Michael George Mathews and Bobbi Lynne Mathews. She also leaves behind her sister Sara Raddon (Ryan); brother Dane Raddon (Olivia); nephew Michael Joshua Raddon who was like a brother to her; special Grandma Kathleen Wright; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who she loved with all her heart.

Katie was preceded in death by her grandparents Floyd and Merlyn Ellis(Osborne). Special thanks to her physicians, Dr. Victoria Judd, Dr. John Hawkins, Dr. Sally Ormsby, Dr. Dale Chapman, Dr. Charles Pribble, Dr. Teri Jo Mauch. Nurses: Mary O., Teresa G. and Harmony Home Health. Also special thanks to Wendy Lloyd and Carrie Carter. And thanks to the entire staff of Primary Children’s.

We will be having a wake to remember her life on Monday July 19, 2010 from 7:00-9:00pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East. Grave side service will be Tuesday July 20, 2010 at 10:00am located at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 5^th South. In lieu of flowers please donate to Primary Children’s Medical Center or to your favorite charity in Katie’s honor.
