John Edward Hollister
September 3, 1949 – June 17, 2010
John was born in Tacoma, Washington, in 1949. He moved to San Diego in 1965 where he graduated from Morse High School in 1967. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Army and went to Vietnam. While in Vietnam, his parents bought a house. Upon his return to San Diego, his parents set up a blind date with the next-door neighbor, Eva, who became his wife of 38 years. He worked for Pacific Messenger for 17 years. Then, he worked for Home Depot for 20 years. He attended San Diego State University and was a big Aztec Football fan. He loved watching and going to their games. He hated the idea of missing a game.
He leaves behind his wife, Eva. Together, they had twin daughters, Margaret Corissa and Victoria Sydney, as well as two beautiful grandkids, Riley Nicole and Sean Connor. He also leaves behind 3 sisters: Sandra Shelley, Debra Renollet, Anna Olson, and 2 brothers: George and William Hollister.
He is so loved by family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him. Every time we see an eagle we will be reminded of him because of his passion for and his collection of eagles.
Rest In Peace ~ Big John, we all love you.
