James Bernard Kunzweiler

James Bernard  Kunzweiler (Jim) was born Feburary 28, 1961 and died in May 29th in Salt Lake City.  Jim was the son of the late Lee and Norinne Kunzweiler and brother to Bill (Linda), Linda and John (Julie) and uncle to Matt and all who survive him.

Jim grew-up in Salt Lake City attending J.E. Cosgriff School and Judge Memorial High School.  Jim was a graduate of Gonzaga University.  After graduation Jim worked in retail and publishing.

Jim is also survived by his uncle, Jay Mooney and aunt, Julie Maher.  Jim enjoyed a wonderful relationship with his cousins, the Mooney, Ruff and McBroom families, who generously made him a part of their lives and loved him dearly.

Seven years ago, Jim was in a devastating accident, but he was saved by the incredible work of the professionals at Intermountain Healthcare.  His recovery continued through the wonderful work of his physical and exercise therapists.  Jim turned his disability into a life of inspiration to those of us who survive.  His incredible smile and kind words while riding around town in his wheelchair was a sight we will not soon forget.

Jim was a deep, accepting and genuine friend to a very wide circle of people he knew from the many different paths of his life.  He cherished his relationships with his classmates and friends from Judge and Gonzaga.  Jim loved people and always made time for a kind word, an encouraging thought, a long story and often, a pretty funny joke or observation.

Jim's life was a journey with many chapters; each chapter a book in and of itself.  And if one's life is measured by the people touched, Jim had a life well-lived.

Rest in peace, dear friend.
