Larry Dean McGuire

Larry Dean McGuire, 84, passed away peacefully April 12, 2018 at home in the presence of his loving family.  He was born October 11, 1933 in Salt Lake City, UT, the fifth of six children to Claude and Rosa McGuire.  He married the love of his life Donna Rae Bailey in Elko, Nevada on July 23, 1954. They were married for 58 years before she preceded him in death.

Larry served in the US Navy and worked as a Medical Technologist at LDS Hospital.  He loved his pugs, fishing, hunting, puzzles, reciting poetry, and singing as if no one was listening.  He was also an avid runner and completed 15 marathons.  Larry was quick witted, kind, and charmed the pants off of everyone he met.  

Larry and Donna raised 8 children together: Larry Jr. (deceased), Biff (Pamela), Peggy (Billy), Laurie (Phil), Scott (Lori), Vard, Patrick (Megan) and Mindy. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna, son Larry, parents and siblings. He is survived by his remaining 7 children; 20+, grandchildren; 8+ great-grandchildren. 

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 19th at Edison Ward, Pioneer Stake Center (1401 West 700 South, SLC Utah). Friends and family may gather for socialization at 10:00am at the church, and the service will begin at 11:00am.
