Our sweet loving little mom, wife and friend, Betty Jean McPolin Burt passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, January 31st. She was born in Park City, Utah, on March 24, 1925 to Patrick Michael and Grace Agatha McPolin. Mom was the baby of the family and was born at the McPolin Farm in the family home.

Mom was a bit of a tomboy in her younger years. She loved running her horse from the farm to Park City High School, skiing down the mountains behind the farm ,driving the truck full of hay to the barn, roller skating in the loft, feeding the baby lambs and giving the baby kittens rides in her socks. She was so proud of her family's Irish Heritage and grateful to have her family farm preserved as an historical site for others to enjoy. Thanks to the Friends of the Farm & Denise Carey for supporting the restoration and preservation of the McPolin Barn.

Mom was a cheerleader at Park City High School, where she fell in love with her sweetheart of 72 years, Thomas "Dean" Burt. They were married in Park City at St. Mary's Catholic Church on September 25, 1944. Their Love Story of 72 years will be eternally preserved in their hearts, the hearts of their family and all who know them.

Mom was a member of the Catholic Woman's League for 36 years, the Catholic Women's Bowling League for over 50 years, and golfed weekly till she was 89. She worked at the Salt Lake City Police Department for a time and Auerbauch's in the records and bookkeeping office prior to starting a family. Mom raised her 4 children to be respectful, loving and strong in our Catholic Faith. We will miss her with all are hearts.

She is survived by her loving husband Dean; children Linda, Patricia (Paul), Tom (Linda), Pamela (Todd); 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren. Mom adored all her grandchildren, great- grandchildren, & great-great grandchildren and loved them with all her heart, even the ones she only was able to hold in a picture. A special mention to Mom's nieces: Karen, Mary Kay, & Theresa for their love & caring, she loved you.
