He departed this life on Friday, December 23rd 2016 at 9:28 AM in Denver, Colorado. Born on June 12th, 1950 in Lexington, MS to Mary Louise Washington and James Willie Johnson. Adopted at birth by Franke and Mary Anderson.

He accepted Christ at the early age of 12, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend B.T. McSwine. He continued his journey with Christ as he entered manhood. He received a former education in the Tallahatchie County School System. He then began his first job on the family farm sharecropping and later to Meadart Locker.

He met the love of his life and they joined in Holy Matrimony on January 10th 1972, together they had seven beautiful children. In 1984 they moved from Mississippi to Salt Lake City. He worked as a janitor at LDS Hospital until retiring in 2010.

In loving memory, his devoted wife of over 44 years Barbara Ann Johnson; his three daughters Kimberly Black (James Black) of SLC, Mary Louise Johnson (Zakiah Lancaster) of SLC, Sue Ella Hardin (Ralph Hardin) of SLC; four sons Kenneth Johnson Jr. (Tracy Johnson) of SLC, Sedric L. Johnson (Debi Davis) of SLC, Peter Stanford Johnson (Jessica Jacobs) of SLC, and Jeffery James Johnson; and his four sisters Helen Turner of Denver, Katherine Love of Denver; Ella Dee Anderson of Racine WI, and Sue Ella Wiggins of Racine, WI. Kennith had a host of grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom loved him dearly.

Preceded in death by his birth parents; adoptive parents; his brothers James Willie Washington, Albert Harris; and his sisters Limmie Dunbar, Carrie Anderson and Pendora Anderson.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 5th at 1:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 1090 S. State Street, Salt Lake City, with a viewing one hour prior to services. Kennith will be laid to rest in Greenwood, Mississippi.
