Connie Drenker, treasured wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and light in our lives, passed away of natural causes on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.

Connie was born September 4, 1952, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to James R. and Gertrude (Vogel) Barnhart. She graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1970 and attended the University of Utah where she received a degree in Physical Therapy. Following graduation, she worked at University Hospital at the University of Utah, where she spent most of her career.

She married Jeffrey Drenker on August 14, 1976. Over the past 40 years they enjoyed skiing, hiking, and fishing together.

Connie loved the outdoors, experimenting in the kitchen, gardening with her very green thumb, travelling to tennis tournaments with Jeff, and sharing and celebrating special moments with her family and friends. She embraced life and the glorious creations of God. She was devoted to her Christianity, enjoyed time with her prayer groups, and never missed an opportunity to venture into the mountains with friends. From work to church to volunteer activities, she found many lifelong friends who could always count on Connie to be their cheerleader, their support system, and to surround them with love.

She was a truly giving person, a faithful and devoted wife, and always put the interests of family and friends above her own.

Connie is survived by her husband Jeff Drenker, of Salt Lake City; her mother Gertrude (Toots) Barnhart of Salt Lake City; brother James (Dorene) Barnhart of Penn Valley, California; brother Bill (Cathy) Barnhart of Salt Lake City; niece Lisa (Mike) Fox of Charlotte, North Carolina; niece Wendy (Kevin) Terrien of Denver, Colorado; nephew Billy (Martina) Barnhart of Redondo Beach, California; niece Amy (CJ) Robandt of Becket, Massachusetts; and nephew Mike Robandt of Salt Lake City.

A memorial service to celebrate Connie's life will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016, at 12:00 PM, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1090 South State Street, Salt Lake City. All are welcome.
