John Patrick Ward
He was born in Seattle, Washington to Michael F. Ward and Eliza M. Foster. He served his country in the Air Force before traveling to Utah where he met and married Adelaide Smith and together had four children. John worked as an air traffic controller for over 30 years and was an avid golfer and pool player. John was the last member of the Member's Only club and was quite proud of his collection. He enjoyed telling jokes and was always the life of the party. He loved his family and would do anything for them; he especially loved his grandkids.
He shared life and was loved by his partner and buddy, Kay Powell; the mother of his children Adelaide Ward Stowers; his children Paul (Heidi), John (Michele), Tracy (Jim), Michael (Amy); grandchildren Olivia, Sophia, Emmy, Hailey and Alec. Special thanks goes out to those at St. Marks Hospital and Highland Care Center for taking such good care of him.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 29th from 12:00-1:45pm at Stark's Funeral Parlor 3615 S. 900 E., SLC, UT. At 2:00pm, a graveside service will be held at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery, 3401 S. Highland Dr., SLC, UT. A wake will be held at John Jr's house following the graveside.
