Roxanne passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 with family and friends by her side at Huntsman Cancer as her body was released from the pain of her cancer.

Roxanne was born and grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She attended Granite High School and was class Historian her senior year, after graduation she attended The University of Utah.

Roxanne loved what she did, she started as an usher at the Salt Palace where her love of music, sports, events and people grew. She then had a 16-year career at KSL Television working in programming and news.  For the past 14 years she worked at KTVX where she helped start and produced “Good Things Utah”; however, She never had just one thing going, she was involved as a publicist for numerous athletes, dancers and musicians and was instrumental in events Comic-con.

Helping people and charity was a major part of who Roxanne was, she connected people in the best way and is responsible for marriages, successful careers and lifelong friendships.  It didn’t matter if you had met Rox for the first time, you were instantly a friend and treated as family and she would do anything for you. She always had a special relationship with children and she was the first to admit she was a big kid herself.  It was no wonder that she wanted to improve their lives and worked diligently with charities like Bear Hugs for Kids and Hope Kids

Roxanne is survived by sister Stace Hasegawa; brother Kory (Andrea) Hasegawa and much loved nephew Case.  She is also survived by “chosen” sisters; Sue George, Mowissa (Melissa) Youngberg and second family Karl and Kay Malone children Kadee, Kylee (goddaughter), KJ and Karlee along with aunts and cousins, her TV family, RSL family, and dancer and musician family. She is preceded in death by parents Paul and Miki Hasegawa.

The Hasegawa family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and doctors at Huntsman Cancer Institute for the comfort and merciful care provided to Roxanne and to family and friends for their loving outpouring of support.
