Carl Higham Smith

Carl Higham Smith, beloved husband, father and grandfather died peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2016.  Carl was the youngest of three children born to George and Claire Smith of Salt Lake City.  Carl graduated from South High School in 1965 and entered the plumbing trade as an apprentice at Higham Hilton Plumbing.  Upon graduation as a journeyman he worked for several major construction firms but found a home at CCI Mechanical where he retired after 34 years of service.  He served in a number of roles in the local plumbers and credit unions.  During his career he was involved in the construction of many prominent buildings throughout the city.  He honorably served in the US Army Reserves during the early 70's.  In his free time he enjoyed wood working and carving, gardening and home improvement projects.  He is survived by his wife of 46 years Bonnie Smith; son Bill and daughter-in- law  Mary Smith of Carlsbad, CA; and grandchildren Katrina and Connor.

To respect his wishes no funeral services will be held.  A gathering of friends and family will be arranged at a later date.
