Richard F. Bojanowski

Richard F. Bojanowski died December 21, 2015. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 6, 1928 to Frank J. Bojanowski (1902 - 1967) and Anne M. (Butt) Bojanowski (1904 - 1993). His brother Robert (1931 - 1992) and sister Dolores (1929 - 1999) predeceased him. He has a surviving brother, William, who is currently living in Houston, Texas. Richard graduated from Cathedral Latin High School in Cleveland, Ohio in 1946 and Ohio State University in June of 1951. He enlisted in the Air Force in August of 1951 where he served for five years with one year in Korea (1953 - 1954). In 1956, he entered the University of Houston and graduated with a Juris Doctor in 1962. In 1961, he took and passed the Texas Bar exam. Subsequently he became licensed in Indiana, Illinois and Utah. He was also a registered patent attorney and practiced Intellectual Property Law. Prior to entering private practice in Salt Lake City, Utah, he worked for Petro-Tex Chemical Co. in Houston, Texas; Miles Laboratories in Elkhart, Indiana; A.E. Staley Manufacturing Co. in Decatur, Illinois; and Eimco Corp. in Salt Lake City, Utah. He retired from the practice of law in 1992. He married Mary Ann Senger on June 11, 1955 in St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Hamilton, Ohio. He is survived by Mary Ann and their four daughters, Donna Ann Bojanowski (Roger) Roth, Lisa Ann Bojanowski (Peter) Kuhn, Patricia Ann Bojanowski Bauer, Frances Ann Bojanowski (Michael) Miller; and son Thomas Richard Bojanowski. Their fifth daughter, Sharon Ann Bojanowski Gonzales (1957 - 1992) and her husband, Ramon, predeceased him in a horrific automobile accident in 1992. Patricia, Frances and Tom are currently living in the Seattle, Washington area while Donna and Lisa are residing in Salt Lake City. There are 14 grandchildren split evenly in gender; and one great-grandchild. Richard was a licensed pilot, certified scuba diver and enjoyed fishing, particularly at Great Bear Lake in Canada. After retiring from the practice of law, he volunteered his services for the Senior Lawyer Volunteer Project, the Utah Public Guardianship Program, East Canyon Resort, Mt. Olympus Senior Center and many others. He received the Attorney Pro Bono award in 1999 from the Utah State Bar for his services. 

A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 29 from 6 to 8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, SLC. Please use the complimentary valet parking provided on the north side of the building.
