Gen passed away peacefully December 12, 2015 with her children in attendance. She was brilliant to the end. She was born August 24, 1917 in Kaysville, UT to William and Julia Gailey.  She grew up in Kaysville where she and her family endured the Depression on their family farm at 150 South Main, Kaysville, UT.  Gen graduated from Davis High and went on to attend Utah State University in Logan where she met her husband to-be Drue Dunn.  The couple lived in Idaho for some time where they had three children.  Shortly after returning to Utah, Drue passed away leaving Gen to raise the three children on her own by working as a school teacher.   She relocated to California after her two daughters married where she met her future husband Roy George.  The two traveled extensively and had a great time.  They were married for about 20 years and upon his passing, Gen moved back to Salt Lake to be closer to her daughters.  She was an amazing seamstress.  She loved all sports and knew all of the scores and teams.  She was one hell of a bridge player and would host a weekly bridge party with friends from the senior center.  Gen was quite a character who was practical and put up with no nonsense.  She was a caregiver with tremendous compassion for others, helping "inmates" (which she was clearly not) at the assisted living facility where she resided.  She made friends wherever she went and could begin a conversation with anyone.  She will be sorely missed. She is survived by stepson Jack (Betty) George her children (in order of importance) John (Mary) Dunn of Jacksonville, OR, Kathryn (Ken) Stats of Sandy, UT, Judi (Bill) Alder Salt Lake City. Other survivors include eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren, and sister Alice Telford. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gen's life on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East.  Please use the complimentary valet parking provided on the north side of the building.  She will be laid to rest at a private family ceremony at Kaysville City Cemetery.
