Born on April 3, 1955, Von Alan Kinyon passed away October 25, 2015 peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife Debbie and their three children; Heather (Jeremy), Jen (Dusty) and Von Micheal (Julee). Von was a proud grandpa of ten; Jacob, Brayden, Allie, Alyssa, Alissa, Connor, Devon, Emma, Damian and Lucas. Dad valiantly fought lung and brain cancer for 18 months.

Von was the middle child of six siblings; Bucky, Jerry, Mickey, Shari and Kim born to Merle "Buck" and Shirley R. Kinyon in Salt Lake City. It was clear Von had an independent spirt early on, leaving home at the age of 16. He became involved with a Jesus youth group movement during that time and always spoke of his appreciation for Rev. Chris and his guidance.  At 16, he also met the love of his life and best friend, Debra L. Birch.  They married a year later at Southeast Christian Church on December 8, 1972. Three children followed; Heather, Jen and Von Micheal.  Von was proud of all of his children but especially Von Micheal who followed in his footsteps and has worked side by side for nearly 20 years.

Von was always an entrepreneurial man and led many paint contracting businesses to success. He eventually went into business on his own with V.A. Kinyon & Son Painting later changing it to Procom Painting.  One of the professional highlights of Von's career was becoming President of the Painting, Decorator Contractors of America (PDCA) from 1986-1989. Another highlight was the six years he spent working in the Hawaiian Islands, taking his family a few times and spending an extended 4 month work project/vacation with his dad, Buck.  In 1999, Von and Procom Painting became involved with the Neighbor Works program "Paint Your Heart Out." Von provided materials, labor and helped to organize the event, which painted exteriors of homes for senior citizens and individuals with disabilities in the community. His children, grandchildren, family and friends volunteered each August with Procom Painting. In 2015, Neighbor Works honored and recognized Von for his 16 years of service.  Von was a professional paint contractor for over 40 years and enjoyed each job and the people he met throughout the years.

Von's happiest moments were spent with his 10 grandchildren from whom he received endless amounts joy from.  Von was an avid music lover, enjoyed fishing, oil painting and spending Sunday's watching his favorite NFL team, the Kansas City Chiefs. A big thank you goes to Von's hospice nurse, Marina for her care and support.  To his sister Shari, whose love and support in Von's last days meant the world to us all, including Von. We love you and can never thank you enough.

No more does the question of "Am I loved, am I enough?" weigh you down. Now, it's been replaced with the pure joy of knowing this world was a better place because you were in it and that you've always been loved fiercely by the people who mattered most.  Rest in peace Dad and enjoy the chats in that heavenly coffee shop in the sky with your Dad, Grandma & Grandpa Nuneviller, Vince, Eddie and Bob.  Maybe Elvis and Stevie Ray Vaughn will stop by and have a cup & chat too.

You will forever be in our hearts.

A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, November 5th at Starks Funeral Parlor from 6-8 p.m.
