Rosemarie Gertrud Kuehndahl, 79, our loving wife, mother, oma, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on September 22, 2015. Although sudden and unexpected, we know that she has been welcomed into the kingdom of heaven to spend eternity with Jesus.

Rosemarie was born on February 15, 1936 in Wuppertal, Germany to Friedrich and Alwine Rocholl. She grew up with 4 brothers and enjoyed spending time taking walks and playing with family and friends in the forest near her home. She met her sweetheart, Norbert in 1956 on a train to Heidelberg, Germany, and after meeting by chance on several occasions at different dance halls, they were inseparable. They were married July 28, 1958 and immigrated to the United States shortly thereafter. They were happily married for 57 years.
Rosemarie enjoyed spending time with her family and was very proud of her children and grandchildren and loved them all very much. She was a devote Christian and read the bible regularly. She was one of the kindest women, always thinking of others and volunteering often. She was a fantastic cook and authentic German dishes were her specialty.

Rosemarie is survived by her husband Norbert; her two children Patricia (Paul) and Jeff (Kris); five grandchildren Rachel (Tony), Daniel, Brian, Matthew, and Nicholas; three brothers Hans (Irmgard), Manfred (Irmtraut), Friedel (Brigitte); and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Friedrich and Alwine; brother Friedel; sister Gertrud; and her niece Jeanette.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 25th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, UT. Complimentary valet parking provided on the north side of the building. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 26th, at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to the caring and compassionate staff that looked after our mother and oma at the University of Utah Hospital and the Huntsman Cancer Institute. We ask, in lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
