It is with great sadness we have to say goodbye to Katarzyna (Kasia) Lerch Blaszczak who died on September 12, 2014.

There are no words that can completely define Kasia. No matter how impressive life events, degrees, honorable recognitions, employments or volunteer positions are, she in her dignity and humble nature would not allow for any of this to define her. She refused to allow cancer to dictate her, who she was, or how she lived. She lived a wonderful, happy life to its fullest. While battling cancer for over eight years, she did not allow it to steal a single moment of her life. What defined her was indestructible and will always live: pure love and beauty. Kasia was love and beauty. She saw beauty in people and art, found joy in the details of architecture, and relished in the beauty of all things that surround us in life and work. She saw the beauty in sharing her talents with other people, while cooking. She expressed her positive attitude and love of life in the vibrant classy colors she used to dress. She had the purest love, and shared it with so many other people. Kasia gave love so abundantly and so readily. Kasia loved our Father in Heaven with all her heart. She loved Poland - her heritage. She loved her parents infinitely, Teresa and Andrzej Lerch; as well as her little sister, Magda. Kasia was blessed with her daughter Matylda. She loved her daughter in a way that was beyond humanly possible and with all of her life. She loved her high school sweetheart, her best friend and husband Adam.

A Memorial Mass and celebration of Kasia's life will be on September 19, 2014 beginning at 12:30 PM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 2315 Redondo Avenue, Salt Lake City.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the scholarship fund that has been set-up at Zion's Bank for Matylda Blaszczak.
