Vittorio Amedeo Pardini
Vittorio Amedeo Pardini (Vichi, Victor, Vic, Dad, Uncle Bic, Grandpa, Papa) passed away Sunday August 31, 2014. He was born on March 6, 1951 to Iolanda Bacigalupi and Amedeo Giovanni Pardini. Though born in Ogden, Utah, he spent most of his childhood years in Italy. Due to his father’s passing at a young age he and his brother spent their lives caring for and supporting their mother. This sense of responsibility followed him throughout his life.
He met his future wife Karla Crowther while studying at Weber State University. They were married in 1976 and were blessed with two children, Megan and Matthew. Together they loved to travel, swim, and gather with family and friends. He worked in the financial industry for many years. He was a dedicated employee and made many lifelong friendships throughout his career. In 1994, Victor suffered a serious heart attack and in 1995 became a heart transplant recipient. For the last 20 years, he struggled daily with many health issues. Despite his many challenges, he always remained positive and never stopped enjoying life.
He is survived by the love of his life, Karla, his children Megan (Colter) Chisum, Matthew (Atara) Pardini, and five grandchildren Milo, Ananda, Anuhea, Bridger, and Lander. He is also survived by his brother Carlo Giovanni Pardini, his brothers-in-law Curt Crowther and Carl Crowther, his sisters-in-law Mary Crowther and Joan Crowther, and his many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Amedeo Giovanni Pardini and his mother Iolanda Bacigalupi Pardini.
There will be a celebration of life on Friday, September 19th from 6:00-8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, including a toast for Victor at 7:00 PM. Complimentary valet parking will be provided on the north side of the building. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 20th at 11:00 AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1975 South 2300 East, with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Intermountain Donor Services (www.idslife.org) or the I.J. and Jeanné Wagner Jewish Community Center (www.slcjcc.org).
His wish would be for everyone to consider being an organ donor. He himself became an organ donor the night he died.
The family would like to thank the many doctors at Salt Lake Regional Hospital, LDS Hospital, and the University of Utah Hospital. A special thanks to Dr. Dan Henry for many years of medical care and friendship. We would like to extend deep gratitude to Victor’s donor and her family. Thank you for giving him an extra 20 years.
