Steve passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014, in Salt Lake City. He was 69 years old. Steve was married for over thirty years to his wife, Sue, who passed away in 2006. He had two children, Beth and Chris, and numerous nieces and nephews. He has three grandchildren, who were the center of his life and who he loved dearly. He grew up in Oregon, but his career and family took him to California, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Chicago, and ultimately Salt Lake City. A chemical engineer by trade, he worked in chemical plants as well as offices, taught at community colleges and the University of Utah, and eventually co-founded a consulting firm that took him to mines in India, Russia, South Africa, South America and China. Steve passed away after a long struggle and a heroic fight.
He is now with his wife and daughter, looking over his loved ones, including his son Chris, his brother Dick, and sisters Deb and Barb. Steve will be missed by all, and most especially his son who only ever wanted to grow up to be like his dad.Celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Salt Lake City, where complimentary valet parking will be provided on the north side of the building.
