On August 29, 2023, Kimberli (Sacos) Slaymaker, (64) surrounded by those who loved her, and in her usual style, left to go see what awaited us all after our brief stop on planet Earth. She was the oldest child of Glenn and Shirley Sacos (deceased), loving mother to Tren Slaymaker, big sister to Julie Sacos-Francis, sister-in-law to Mark Francis and aunt to Allyson, (Dakota) Milo,
JP and great aunt to Madds. Friend to everyone she met and wonderful dog mom to Nubie. Kim was born in Midvale Utah and lived the majority of her adult life in the Salt Lake Valley, with a few sojourns to Arizona and Montana. She was a product of the Jordan School District and graduated from Hillcrest High School in the late 70’s and went on to get a Bachelor in accounting from Westminster College. Kim loved the Caribbean and “cruzin,” The ocean filled her spirit and was her oasis. She was a certified scuba diver and used any excuse to get into WARM water to explore. She was a master of using the Tom Sawyer method of compliance. Compliment you until you are convinced you do it better, faster, and more competently than any other person on the planet.
So of course, you sign up. ( Painted a lot of walls with her watching) She made several long-lasting friendships through her work. She appreciated and loved people and had a smile and encouragement for everyone. She would frequently surprise someone by send them a card just to say hi. Her family and friends meant everything to her. Her family would like to thank her team at the Huntsman Cancer Center, her hospice team and her numerous friends who were there to support and love her until the end.
Her urn will be interred in Midvale Cemetery next to her parents in a family service. A celebration of her life will be held at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 So. 900 E. Millcreek, Utah on October 7th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Guest are encouraged to use parking and entrance on the north side of the building.
