Michael Doucet Devin II

Michael Doucet Devin II (Mike), passed away on Sunday, March 19th, 2023. Mike was born May 19th, 1942 in Cornwall, NY to the late Michael Doucet and Evelyn Devin.

He spent the majority of his youth in Natick, Massachusetts. After graduation, he joined the US Air Force and fought in Vietnam where he honorably earned a Purple Heart. Mike later went on to attend MIT and earned an MBA from the University of Utah. Mike was an incredibly intelligent man and hard worker—he had his own electrical business and also worked as an electrical engineer for reputable general contracting and construction management businesses in Utah.

While describing Mike up as a “great man” seems like an oversimplification, they are the most accurate words to characterize this legend. Quirky, stubborn, tough, supportive, charismatic and completely non-judgemental—Mike was loved by everyone that knew him. True to his Cowboy Logic, Mike did have a simple solution to just about everything as the ultimate handyman. Cars, history, learning, gardening and adventuring … the list of his interests and talents go on and on. He experienced so much in life, and was always seeking more—more experiences, more knowledge and more memory-making.

Mike is survived by his love Carolyn Snow, and his children Patti Rantaapa (Jason), Alicia Rice (John), Michael Devin III (Machel), John Simonsen (and family), Bill Simonsen (and family) Blythe Wilde (Tony), Beth Wunderlich (Brian), Robert Snow (Jasmine), Linda Devin, his sister, Kathy (David) Murray, their son, Shane (Amy and family), and his grandchildren Ayden (Rose), Brandon, Sophie, Ariana, Addison, Eva, Carter, Jacob, Maddison, Zachary, and his first great granddaughter (on-her-way; Ayden).

A memorial service will be on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 12:00 PM at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park, 17111 South 1700 West, Bluffdale. A graveside service will follow.
