Sharon Lee Lingenfelter

February 9, 1938 - December 28, 2022

On Wednesday, December 28th, Sharon Lee Lingenfelter, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away after a brief illness. She was eighty-four. Sharon was born to Jeanette and Don Gleason in Minneapolis, Minnesota on February 7th, 1938. She graduated from The Academy of Holy Angels in 1956. While attending classes at the University of Minnesota she met and fell in love with Allen R. Lingenfelter. The two were married on September 16th, 1961.

Shortly thereafter she left her hometown to follow her husband to his new job. They moved to Seattle, Washington where Sharon gave birth to a daughter, Elizabeth, and a son, Matthew. The family would continue to follow her husband’s career and move to several different states including Alabama, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana, and North Dakota. Eventually they would settle in Bountiful, Utah.
Sharon was an active parishioner at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church, where she served as a eucharistic minister. She also worked as a real estate agent and would later join a property management firm. She worked her way up to become the curator of the company’s art collection.

Most of all, Sharon was the center of her family and a great friend. She had many decades long friendships, including her bridge group, various church groups, and the “Wolf group.” These friendships were an important source of support to her while raising a family away from her hometown.

She loved art in all its forms. She would frequently tour museums as well as attending symphonies, ballets, and theater performances. She was also an avid gardener, growing vegetables, flowers, and fruit trees. When the harvest was ready, she would freeze, can, and bake the produce she had grown. She was a kind, caring, and gracious woman who always wanted to help those in need.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Allen, her children, Elizabeth and Matthew, her brother, James Gleason, three grandchildren and a great grandchild. She is proceeded in death by her parents and her brother Robert.
