Corey Wayman Jeffs

September 30, 1994 - November 14, 2022

Corey passed away on Nov. 14, 2022, at the age of 28.


Corey was born on Sept. 30, 1994 in Sandy, UT to Susan Wayman Jeffs & Ward Hunter Jeffs, also Sherie Wayman Jeffs. He came into this world a whopping 24 in. long! Corey had a sweet and calm disposition from the day he was born, a character he maintained throughout his lifetime. He was the 19th child of 20, and the youngest child of Susan. Corey leaves behind 17 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his niece Cheyenne (1997) brother Clayne (2001) brother David (2005) and 3 grand-parents.


Corey grew up with his family in Sandy, UT, where he also graduated from Alta High in 2013. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Utah in 2017.


Corey loved reading books and was quite the intellectual, he enjoyed long conversations about various topics. He also loved nature, his favorite past times were hiking and camping with his brothers and friends. In Corey’s words, “Listen to the river, the songbirds and leaves. Feel the splash of a rain drop and the leaves under your feet. Let’s balance back a bit, with nature’s help.” Music was also a big part of Corey’s life; he played guitar privately. He used music to express and feel his emotions, he connected with music of all genres in a deep way.


The positive impacts of deep friendships, professional relationships, and many meaningful acquaintances Corey nurtured throughout his lifetime will be felt for years to come. Often described as an "old soul," he was truly a caring, creative, engaging, and humorous spirit. He is so profoundly loved.


A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on Thursday, Dec. 1 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Located at at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East. Guests are encouraged to use the parking and entrance on the north side of the building. All are welcome, the family would like to meet and share memories with all who knew and loved Corey. Light refreshments will be served, no alcohol please.
