On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, Joyce Clark Riches, loving wife and mother passed away in Holladay, UT of natural causes at the age of 90.
Joyce was born October 17, 1931 in Garland, Utah to George A. Clark and Eunice Thompson Clark. Graduated from South High School and attended Edmonds Community College. Married William
Norman Riches on March 8, 1951 in Salt Lake City Utah. Sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on May 2, 1964. They raised 5 sons, Larry, Don, Bruce, Jim, Steve, and 2 daughters, Shirley and Sherrie.
Joyce lived an active and vibrant life. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was an active member of the church, holding many leadership and teaching positions over the years. She loved the outdoors, and played tennis, bridge, and to our surprise was a synchronized swimmer in her youth. She was a tough one to beat at Scrabble or other word and card games. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at our family cabin at Bear Lake. She enjoyed plays, musicals and operas, and was a season ticket holder with her friends, at Hale Center Theater, Utah Opera Co., and others for many years.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband William, son Steven, parents George and Eunice Clark, and 8 siblings.
Joyce is survived by sons Larry (Jane), Don (Roxanne), Bruce (Linda), Jim, daughters Shirley and Sherrie, 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Joyce moved into Spring Gardens, Holladay in 2020 and enjoyed the excellent care that she received there by the passionate staff and aides, for which her family is grateful for.
There will be a small gathering of family and friends on Saturday, May 21 at 1:00 at Murray Cemetery.
