Linda Jane Tzakis

March 3, 1940 - November 15, 2021

Our Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

Passed away November 15,  2021 after battling a long illness.

Linda was born March 3, 1940, in MN to Alma Nerdahl and adopted by Ralph and Helen Farrar.

She met her future husband Gerasimos Napoleon Tzakis (Jerry) her senior year in Faribault,MN and married after her graduation in 1958.
Together they worked hard opening restaurants in NY, WI and then Chicago,Il where they started a family and had their 4 children, Cathy(Denny Neofitos), Chris(Efi), Mary and Tony. Finally settling in Salt Lake City to raise their family while opening up The Hellenic House Restaurants and The Mad Greek.
Linda loved warm weather and enjoyed spending summers at their home in Fragata, Kefalonia, Greece,
and collecting porcelain dolls, shopping with her granddaughters and spending quality time at the slots in Vegas and Wendover.
She loved most of all being Yia Yia Linda to her grandchildren Skyler, Efi(Juan), Melina, Lexi(Andrew),Dimitri, Gerasimos and Linda
And her great grandchildren Gabriella,Evangelia and Alexander. Linda is also survived by her siblings, Steven Farrar (Myrna) and Anne Robinson, cousins Kay, Keith and the Nerdahls. Goddaughter Eugenia Metaxa. Numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and her Mad Greek Family.

She is preceded in death by her beloved son Chris. 

Linda attended the Greek Orthodox Church and kept the traditions and cultures alive for her family. She cherished the Greek community and church gatherings. Linda and her family would like to thank her entire St. Marks Medical team, The Cancer Institute of Utah and Inspiration Hospice for the care they have provided the past 3 years.
 
Her smile and boisterous laughter  was infectious. She was truly a woman of substance.

Please join us for a celebration of life on Monday, November 29th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 S. 900 E. Salt Lake City, Ut.  Guests are encouraged to use the parking and entrance on the north side of the building.
