Joseph Peter Wondolowski, Jr., born on September 20, 1940, was raised in Worcester, Massachusetts. He passed away on July 5, 2021 in Holladay, Utah, at home, surrounded by his family. Son to Dr. Joseph Peter and Valerie Pluta Wondolowski. Brother to deceased sisters Janie, Jackie and Joanne. Husband to his wife of 55 years, Sophie Makris Wondolowski, who took such wonderful care of Joe. Father to loving daughters, Dr. Valerie Rahaniotis (George) and Anna Roumpos (Greg). Dziadziu to his amazing grandchildren Sofia, Will and Nina Rahaniotis; Augustino, Giano, Lucien, Maja and Mali Roumpos, who all made him very proud. Uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Joe earned his pilot’s license at age 19 and was part of the Massachusetts Civil Air Patrol. Joe served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in April of 1961. He later graduated from Worcester College and the University of Utah in Entomology, Zoology and Computer Science. Joe loved his profession as a Computer Programmer and he specialized in information technology for Kennecott Copper, Sperry Univac, and Kroger. He retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Joe was an avid reader and had a passion for aviation, science, history and space exploration. He thoroughly enjoyed his trips to Wendover, playing in the slot tournaments and bringing home many prizes for his family.

Thank you, Dad for our love of learning, our senses of humor, our appreciation of beautiful music, your love of cars and electronics, sharing candy, laughing at a good Polish joke, our free thinking minds, and for showing us the importance of loving the life you choose.

Joe was a very generous man and we will whole-heartedly miss his clever sense of humor. As per Joe’s wishes no formal services will be held.

Na Zdrowie Dziadziu!
