George Zaremba

Salt Lake City, UT—A compassionate, generous, honest man left this world on June 16, 2021.

George Caspar Zaremba was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, October 3, 1931. He was the son of Lithuanian immigrants George and Julia Usaitis Zaremba. He attended school in the Scranton area.

In 1951 George joined the U.S. Air Force and was posted to New York, Colorado, Utah and was a veteran of the Korean conflict. In 1951, George met Lorraine Stelling. On June 28, 1952, they were married. They had no children of their own but enjoyed relationships with many young people. They lived in Japan, Thailand, Los Angeles, and Utah.

George retired from the Federal Aviation Administration. George was self-taught and played the harmonica and organ. He was a licensed private pilot. It is hard to say which passion should be listed first, dancing, fishing, or cooking. It is a tossup. He loved a lively polka or jitterbug and could dance the night away.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Utah Veterans Memorial Park in Bluffdale, Utah at 2 p.m.

George is survived by his wife Lorraine, the Stelling family and too many friends to count.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to George’s charities of choice, the Salvation Army or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
