Geraldine 'Geri' Allred

January 15, 1934 - May 12, 2021

Geri passed away May 12, 2021 in Bountiful, UT.  She will be missed dearly by everyone that knew her.

She was born Geraldine Black on Jan. 15, 1934.  She was the first of six children born to LeGrand and Beulah Black in Holden, UT.  She graduated valedictorian of her class at Hinkley High School and married her high school sweetheart, Doug Allred, on Valentine’s Day.  A marriage that lasted 69 years and produced two children; Vikki and Wade (Suzie) and three grandchildren; Taylor, Madison and Lance.

A small-town girl that was proud of her heritage and upbringing, she was also worldly, well-traveled, well-read and could (and would!) converse with anybody about almost anything.  She was interesting and interested in people no matter their social status or walks of life.  If you met her, you liked her.  And you remembered her.

Geri had a unique presence.  She had style and class.  She was very special to those that knew her.  Each and every one of her family including siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends were touched by her kindness, influence and generosity.

Geri enjoyed the arts.  She served as president of The Utah Opera Guild, where she made many life-long friends.  She frequented many of the Broadway Shows and Operas performed at Utah’s Capitol Theatre.  She enjoyed music.  She played the piano and loved to sing.  She loved to read and she loved to learn.  She had a talent for making any event, party or gathering she was involved in feel special, and she always made everyone feel welcome.  She was truly gracious, fun and beautiful.

The family would also like to thank the doctors and staff at Creekside Senior Living who provided Geri with great care and compassion during her stay there.

A celebration of her life and legacy will be held on June 3rd from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Starks Funeral Parlor in Salt Lake City. Guests are encouraged to use the entrance and parking lot on the North side of the building . All family and friends are welcome.
