It is hard sometimes living thousands of miles away, in Alberta, Canada, so we were only able to visit my mother's special cousin, Karen, a few times, but enough that I came to love her dearly. My dad, Phil Britton, taught her Math at the old Carey High School, and I remember him saying that she was a "real princess of a girl." Despite hard trials she was called to pass through, she always faced them with a cheerful smile and will always be a beautiful example to me of strength and love for others before herself. She was a very talented lady and her family was very important to her. My love and prayers are with her family at this difficult time.
