            I wanted to talk about what I learned for Heather and the wonderful life lesson that she taught me. Heather taught me the true meaning of courage. So often in life we think that courage is doing something heroic or about doing something that scares us but what Heather taught me by her example is that courage is doing the hard things every day. I was privileged to really start to get to know Heather when I started working with her in 2003 to 2004. She was at the time a person who just went along with what ever other people in her life wanted and did. She was a shadow of those around her. When we was spending time together she started to create and realize what it was she wanted to have for her own life and the life she wanted to live. She started her journey towards that life. Little did she or any of know what a dark valley that journey would take her through but I watched her each and every day do what it took to get closer to the life she wanted to create. She had the courage to keep doing the hard things and to get stronger with each challenge she was faced. There was several times in the years that followed that she was discouraged and wanted to give up. She ,like most of us when things are hard, was enticed by the thoughts of ,why am I doing this?, why don’t I just stop?, It is just too hard. But then she would move forward and take the courage to do the hard things. So many people want to blame circumstances on why they can’t do things and when it is hard they often quit. Well I was privileged to be there a few times when Heather wanted to be one of those people because things were particularly difficult that day but she was courageous enough to get over her pity party and realize that yes she was dealing with some difficulties but she could persevere. I saw her do the courageous thing time and time again and gain strength from it and be blessed from it. Well I believe that she has finally reached her mountain top.
